I agree, no dome. Domes seem to make their team a bunch of wimps. Look at what happened to Minnesota in the NFL. From the purple people eaters to peter peter pumpkin eater. I do think heated seats would be a great idea though. When it's below zero skin tend to stick to metal and frostbite is a very real concern. Believe me, sometimes it is actually painful to be out in -20 below for 3-4 hours. If there were a small naia town right outside of Vegas that would be great, but there isn't so I'll move on. If Shorter goes ncaa, I'd say we almost have to move the Title game or at least take a hard look at any other sites who are interested. It would really be too bad since the city of Rome has put out their best. That being said, the city won the bid, they improved the facilities and field, they embraced the NAIA Championship game just as much as Savanah did. Kudos to both, by the way. I hope Shorter looks at the best fit for their institution.

I'm a little late to this party. But the stadium, the atmosphere, and the broadcast as a whole was top notch this past December.
I recorded the D-III and NAIA championship games and compared the two repeatedly. The NAIA broadcast was better, and the talent on the field was substantially better in the NAIA game as well.
I used to hate Aaron Taylor when he was an in-studio analyst for ABC, but he was actually pretty good as a TV color guy.

Keep it in Rome. It looked great.
Aaron Taylor is getting better. I noticed a difference just from when he did the game last year to this past year.
What places have bid for the Championship game in the past? I am fine with keeping the game where it is. If Shorter does make a change to the NCAA would the game move?
With the NAIA located in Kansas City...and with Jason located in Nebraska...and if they put in a bid...The MLS team in Kansas City has just about completed their new 18,500 capacity stadium in suburban Kansas City. Tarp off the endzones, and with Kansas City being the heart of NAIA country you would think they might be able to get a pretty decent crowd to the game.
Here is a link to the stadium. http://www.sportingkc.com/new-stadium It would make for nice view at the stadium and on TV. I know a lot of FCS fans were happy with Pizza Hut Park (another MLS stadium) after their championship game moved from Chattanooga last year. Both from fans that were there and from those that watched it on TV.

as much as I want it closer to the Midwest, I think you have to have a warmer weather site. It needs good turf and seat a minimum of 5K and personally, I think in a community of at least 35-40K so there are enough options to draw families. anyone in Oklahoma able to handle that criteria? Northern Texas or the sunbelt?

After just returning from the 2011 chipper,
it should remain in Rome forever! Great venue for the NAIA championship game. Facilities are awesome, as well as restaurants, bars, etc..... The people of Rome treat the visiting football fans like royalty.
Hats off to the city of Rome for their gracious hospitality during championship NAIA week!
