Well....the last time these two teams met..2008....I called 24-13 USF....and it ended up 23-7 USF. I felt I knew the game....but this one not so much.
http://football.victorysportsnetwork.co ... cleID=8711

This time around I think each team has a few things that they probably can do better than the opponent. With everything considered, I gave a hard look at Carroll winning this game as I feel they are more complete....but I kept coming back to the USF front 7 guys....and Eastman and the USF playmakers.

These two teams are clearly the two best in the NAIA..and while I think if they played 10 times, one teams win 6 times, the other 4....I gotta go with..

CC 20
USF 23

I look at this the same way Witt does... each has its strengths and some minor weaknesses. I know where USF's weakness is but won't post it.

In 2008, I knew CC wouldn't score more than 10 cuz USF had the best NAIA defense in many years if not ever. I felt CC would have trouble stopping Zo, cuz no one could. Also, USF had Holleman and with all apologies to Dolen, Duran and Koeppen I would take Trev over any of them.

This year USF has a pocket passer that is very accurate, but with all passer needs time to throw. CC is a ground and pound team that can also throw and USF hasn't faced a balanced team like this. CC has been tested in more games than USF.... USF hasn't been tested since the first game of the year.

CC has the coaching edge (many years together) and the running game edge.......and plays great defense......... the keys to any championship.........
I have watched as many tapes as possible on USF opponents and felt they would win every game they have been in...........

So a prediction.....................

too much defense and run game for CC................

CC 24
USF 16

Special teams score pulls CC ahead...late score widens the gap in a very phsycal game

If these teams play 10 times, USF wins 7 and Carroll loses the other 3.

LOL, not gonna happen. On the brighter side, you did finally make the semi's. That has to count for something. I have a feeling your ego is going to take another hit after you see the results of the Championship game. LOL.
Just concentrate on your team bettering itself huh? Merry Christmas 99

There are a few Carroll fans out there with some class (usually Halo, et al) but this is why you guys are so hated. Obviously that prediction was tongue-in-cheek. I did think USF would win, but I was messing with you a bit on the score bit. Honestly, I thought USF by 10-14. I was wrong. Carroll won and deserves the title.

I shouldn't be surprised by this, though. Our players were treated to a classy display last year in Helena after the game. Far worse than what I was called.

Sorry reasonable Carroll fans, you don't deserve these guys.

Does anyone know who won the pick the score contest? Jason has generously donated an all-expenses paid trip to the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl to watch Oregon play Auburn. The prize is awarded to the poster who picked the right team winning and at least got one of the participants score correct. I will be able to go over everything tomorrow.

Thanks for the prize Jason! :o

You had 28-7....ya dork..

Looking over the scores....nobody was all that close. Probably Borth was closest..with the wrong winner though.

I did pick 28-7 in favor of Carroll and nobody else got the right team and/or the right score for one team. I guess that makes me the winner!!!! :good-Thumb

I will PM you my address Jason so you can send me my tickets and hotel arrangements. I will hold up a sign that says..."Victory Sports ROX".
