SXU vs Carroll....the chip thread..

Interesting matchup..

Carroll is the steamroller they have been for years....running team with opportunistic passing...along with a strong defense....a very good team at the point of attack. MVD is really hard to beat, especially in the chipper..

SXU is the clear underdog....a team that's been knocking at the door for years and finally breaks through. SXU has been able to contain the running game of both MNU and Marian, on the road, in these last 2 weeks. Job #1 for them, slowing down the CC running game. SXU passing game is their situation..as CC wont allow them much on the ground (SXU isn't APU upfront).

This makes for a very interesting matchup. SXU gets their rematch from last years semis, in better weather, neutral field, and field turf.

Should be a great game! Congrats to both teams for earning their trip to Rome!

With that said, let the talk begin about CC just owning this thing...

...same thing as last year type of stuff...

Let's try to stay away from that, this SXU is greatly different from last year.

Mostly importantly what is different is the coaching staff and the play calling, they finally called a decent game in the semis.

So proud of all those guys, cannot wait to party tonight!

Congrats to StX, great game against undefeated Marian. Now we will get to meet in some nice weather. Personally I don't think the line will be much over 21...LOL.
Carroll College is going to be ready and I don't think StX will expect just what is coming their direction. It will be a great game.

Kinda sad that they think they need the extra motivation. Hello.....I know you guys haven't been there before but this is the Championship game. It is the last game of the season win or lose. If you need bulletin board material at this stage, and from a KCAC guy, maybe you'd better just stay home.

Personally, I'm glad StX is in it. They have been very close for a long time. Talk all the trash you want, just be aware of where it's coming from. I'd just hate to think you got all the bulletin board material from the HAAC or KCAC, (sorry, sometimes I get them confused).

Watching CC v. X on tivo right now---2010 Semis. X blitzing a lot---I forgot how much they run blitzed and played 8 in the box till I'm watching the game again. I realize its a different year with different players. But the schemes aren't going to change much from last year to this year. The one big difference is X will be playing in good weather on 2 year old field turf. That should favor their offense a lot compared to the frozen tundra at Nelson last year. Really excited about the matchup on a neutral site. Should be a great one!!

SXU doesn't take material from this website for their "bulletin board", nor do they need it. It's the damn National Championship. If you need motivation for this game as a player, you don't have a pulse. Especially after last year's hockey game. Oh, wait, it was just football on an ice rink....
