How good is Belhaven and why hasn't Payne from Southern Poly played the last couple weeks?

That's two questions.

I'm still wondering how a team with a 16-16 record gets in.

They got an automatic bid.

SSAC gets two automatic bids and they allocate those to the two teams in the tournament final.

Belhaven made a surprisingly good showing last night against OK Baptist. Led for a lot of the game, but finally lost 68-62. Shorter and S Poly both won, and Lee is leading G'town right now, still in the 1st half. So the SSAC is doing pretty well so far.
