VSN is throwing a "Food Talk" BBQ

Hi everyone;

I am pleased to announce that VSN is throwing a BBQ at noon on Sunday, March 17, in downtown Kansas City. This is next Sunday, the "off day" for the Men's DI Tourney.

The venue is out doors, so it will definitely be "weather permitting". So far it looks doable.

Capacity is extremely limited, so let me know if you want to come, by RSVP'ing on the VSN event page on Facebook:

This is a "pot luck" BBQ, so when you RSVP let me know what you can bring. Someone who can contribute something to grill will get preference if we run out of room, as well as long time forum members and friends of VSN. Maybe there will even be some coaches that are still around. I will be doing the "Santa Maria BBQ" (tri tip) which is how we do BBQ in Central California. Ranch beans and salsa included, if they can be sourced.

Once we are closer to the weekend I will let participants know where the venue is. It is within walking distance of Muni.

Bronto, with the St Pattys Day Parade on KC on Sunday bringing 500,000 people into the area, its going to be a logistical nightmare for anyone who's not already downtown.

I think it will start aroind 10. Kc will be a green, drunken orgy and will smell like New Orleans. Should be fun.

Perfect description. Downtown, esp around the P&L District and Westport, will be really earthy.

The people watching is unparalleled....except on warm, sweaty Sundays during Chiefs' games at Camarohead.

Well, when I scheduled this the forecast was for high 60's, low 70s. Now it's for mid 40's and rain. I am going to have to cancel this.
